 1. Origin of Hinduism


Indus Valley Civilization (2500–1500 BCE):

The earliest known civilization of India, where evidence of Shiva-like figures and yogic postures has been found.


Vedic Age (1500–500 BCE):

The Aryans arrived in India and composed the Vedas. The four main Vedas are:

Rigveda: Hymns and praises to deities.

Yajurveda: Rituals and sacrifices (yajna).

Samaveda: Music and devotion.

Atharvaveda: Spells, medicine, and household matters.


2. Vedanta & Upanishads (Philosophy)


Upanishads (around 800–200 BCE):

Discuss deep spiritual ideas about the soul (Atman), the Supreme Being (Brahman), and liberation (Moksha).

“Aham Brahmasmi” – I am Brahman

“Tat Tvam Asi” – You are that


3. Epics and Scriptures


Ramayana (by Valmiki):

The story of Lord Rama, the ideal king, son, and husband.

Mahabharata (by Vyasa):

The great war between Kauravas and Pandavas. Includes the Bhagavad Gita.


Bhagavad Gita:

Dialogue between Arjuna and Lord Krishna – teaching the path of duty (dharma), action (karma), and liberation (moksha).

18 main Puranas – Like Vishnu Purana, Shiva Purana, Devi Bhagavatam, Garuda Purana.

These contain stories of gods, creation of the universe, and divine incarnations.

सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता (2500–1500 ईसा पूर्व):

रामायण (वाल्मीकि):

भगवान राम की कथा – आदर्श पुत्र, पति और राजा की छवि।

महाभारत (वेदव्यास):

कौरवों और पांडवों का युद्ध, जिसमें भगवद गीता भी सम्मिलित है।

भगवद गीता:

अर्जुन और श्रीकृष्ण का संवाद – धर्म, कर्म, और मोक्ष की शिक्षा।


4. पुराण


18 मुख्य पुराण – जैसे विष्णु पुराण, शिव पुराण, देवी भागवत आदि।

इनमें देवताओं की कथाएँ, सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति और अवतारों का वर्णन होता है।


5. प्रमुख देवी-देवता


त्रिदेव:

ब्रह्मा – सृष्टि के रचयिता

विष्णु – पालनकर्ता

शिव – संहारक

देवियाँ:

सरस्वती (विद्या), लक्ष्मी (धन), दुर्गा/काली (शक्ति)


6. जीवन के चार उद्देश्य (पुरुषार्थ)


1. धर्म – कर्तव्य और नैतिकता

2. अर्थ – धन और साधन

3. काम – इच्छाएँ और सुख

4. मोक्ष – जन्म-मरण से मुक्ति


7. जीवन के चार आश्रम


1. ब्रह्मचर्य – विद्यार्थी जीवन

2. गृहस्थ – पारिवारिक जीवन

3. वानप्रस्थ – संयम और सेवा

4. सन्यास – त्याग और मोक्ष की साधना



8. मुख्य अवधारणाएँ


कर्म – हर कर्म का फल होता है

पुनर्जन्म – मृत्यु के बाद नया जन्म

मोक्ष – जन्म-मरण के चक्र से मुक्ति

आत्मा – अमर आत्मा

ब्रह्म – परम सत्ता या ब्रह्मांडीय चेतना


9. प्रमुख संप्रदाय


वैष्णव संप्रदाय – विष्णु, राम, कृष्ण की भक्ति

शैव संप्रदाय – शिव की उपासना
